Allah has sent many prophets and messengers to humans to invite them to worship Him alone and not associate anything with Him. Among these prophets mentioned in the Quran and Hadith of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) is Joseph (Yusuf in Arabic). Joseph is one of the prophets after whom a chapter of the Qur'an is named. In Surah Yusuf, there are diverse verses and lessons for anyone seeking guidance and righteousness, The Surah contains transitions from one state to another, trials and tribulations, humiliation to honor, captivity to kingship, division to reunion and the realization of goal and from sadness to joy narrowness to spaciousness. The Surah also encompasses foundational beliefs and legal principles that jurists utilize in deriving judgments. This study aims to Analyze the verses of shar'u man qablana (previous legislation) in Surah Yusuf. The study realises that there are verses containing some shar'u man qablana in Surah Yusuf that have been affirmed in our Sharia, while others have been abrogated, verses of shar'u man qablana in Surah Yusuf that remain applicable in our Sharia include the interpretation of dreams, the concept of competition, and the use of indirect evidence, (Qarinah and Amarat) However, the verses of shar'u man qablana in Surah Yusuf that are no longer applicable in our Sharia include the punishment for theft and the prostration (sujud) as mentioned in the Surah and the desire for death, as mentioned in the Surah.
